Major Responsibilities

  • Come to work every day ready to make IT happen!
  • On the floor majority of the time greeting, talking to customers, developing relationships and selling product utilizing our feature/benefit selling methodology. 
  • Understand motorcycles by studying characteristics, capabilities, and features; comparing and contrasting competitive models.
  • Develop relationships and buyers by maintaining rapport with previous customers; suggesting trade-ins; meeting prospects at outside activities; responding to inquiries; recommending sales campaigns and promotions.
  • Introduce new customers to the service, parts, general merchandise and finance departments.  Work closely with the other departments as an opportunity to maximize sales.
  • Close sales by overcoming objections; asking for sales; negotiating price.  Attain new and used unit sales quotas as agreed upon with the sales manager.
  • Cultivate prospects by working the showroom floor, customer follow-up, participating in outside events.  
  • Daily prospecting by making phone calls, sending emails, completing logs in order to build a pipeline.
  • Participate in daily one-on-ones with department manager.
  • Meeting and exceeding daily minimum performance standards.
  • Participate and network during HOG meetings, Bike nights, and other dealership sponsored events.
  • Deliver motorcycles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must be a Motorcycle Rider and must be passionate about Harley-Davidson brand.
  • Must hold a motorcycle endorsement or must be willing to obtain one within 90 days of employment.

  • Work with customers to address concerns, describe them clearly on the repair order.
  • Estimate costs and completion times at point of sale. Clearly communicate them to customer.
  • Assign jobs to technicians based on skill level and current resource utilization.
  • Review work-in-progress to ensure quality and timeliness.
  • Provide superior customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Greet customers immediately, in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Sell additional services by pointing out service specials or additional work needed.
  • Handle customer complaints reasonably, showing empathy and a positive attitude, and demonstrate our commitment to "Make Things Right".

Qualifications

  • Repair and maintenance of motorcycles.
  • Provide prompt, dependable, high quality, vehicle service to internal and external customers.
  • Work closely with the service writers and parts department teams.
  • Assist service writers and the parts department teams.
  • Assist service writers with writing up orders, communication with customers, test riding, or any other issue which will ensure customer satisfaction and improve overall service process.
  • Maintain technical PHD and other qualification by completing any necessary training programs.
  • Other responsibilities as needed within the service and parts departments.

A Day in the Life

  • Plan and execute dealership events large and small both onsite and offsite
  • Develop and coordinate departmental promotions with the dealership managers 
  • Ensure all marketing/event materials in store are posted, current and look professional 
  • Book all event vendors and promotional specialists and communicate with them regularly 
  • Post and promote our dealership and events on social media; capture photography and leads at events
  • Participate in planning of annual calendar of events
  • Creative support the marketing department; assist in coordinating all in store meetings such as employee meetings, HD meetings, training sessions, etc.
  • Present and speak at events in front of small and large crowds
  • Shop for supplies for all events, set up tables, event areas, food preparation 
  • Be a voice for the Dealership as the Harley Owner’s Group Chapter Manager
  • Give back! As you’ll work in collaboration with our local charities and manage all donation requests to best impact our local community.

Experiences

  • Some event experience is required; planning, coordinating, executing events
  • Communication; ability to comfortably speak in front of a small and a large crowd; ability to creatively post on social media
  • Creativity; ability to think outside the box and be creative with ideas
  • Must be highly social, highly energetic, great at building relationships with anyone
  • Excellent computer and social networking skills
  • Motorcycle experience is NOT required but passion for the Harley-Davidson brand is preferred
